Thames Valley and Great Western Omnibus Trust
This is now the 15th year that vintage buses and coaches have converged on Kingsbridge and its small but perfectly formed bus station on the Quay. The running day is a reminder of the value of public transport to rural and coastal communities and a treat for all those enjoying the free rides. The services unlock hidden gems of the South Hams to passengers and crews alike.
The Trust organises regular displays and vintage bus running days, where you are able to enjoy a wide range of vehicles in their former habitats.
At our running days, you observe first-hand how the vehicles performed in service and build your own sense of how bus and coach travel has developed through the generations.
Our events have gained a nationwide reputation for authenticity and adventure, recreating the full experience of road transport in bygone days. They have become established, popular attractions for local communities and enthusiasts alike.
Our chosen bus ride today was on this old timer which took us on a round trip to Thurlestone. Thank you to all the other motorists who met us on the way and took the day and the narrow lanes in good humour.
Looks like a good time Gethin. Love the double decker buses.
A very sweet post. Very nostalgic creating a warm feeling. To me there is no better looking bus than the double decker red buses in England. Really good looking buses.
