This piece is a bit of fun, shot in Lisbon Portugal on a recent visit. We almost always take an open top bus tour when we visit a city, unless it is in the Arctic, so I thought, sit on top and fire away at whatever I see on a really fast shutter speed on a sunny day, ensuring some guarantee of a sharp image. Of course you are not guaranteed a straight image or an image without superfluous photo bombing extras and you can forget composition as you have one or two seconds to take the shot.
So this is the bus tour of Lisbon, part 1, with photos in order, that have not been cropped or straightened in any way. The only thing I have done is alter the exposures where necessary. Lisbon's roads are variable and mostly undulating, so on top of a double decker any dips in the road are accentuated in the extreme, so hang on to your hats, literally, it was a bumpy ride. Wondering in the beginning if I would even get a any sharp shots I was pretty amazed when I ended up with quite a few.
We chose the blue tour, and this set only gets us to somewhere between stop 5 the Jardim Zoologico and stop 6 the Praca de Espanha.
One pleasing result was the unexpected that flashed past way too quickly to see, until now. As you peruse the photos check out the seagull in flight, a man roasting chestnuts, the man flat on his back and a missing half of a balcony.
Wonderful that the weather was so cooperative. I loved the animals on the overpass piers - a great feature. All the shots turned out really well - thanks for the tour!
I stopped and look at each and every photo. Absolutely great post!!! Amazing how sharp the photos are considering as you mentioned how bumpy the ride was. Really, really nice drive by's. Photo #3 is amazing especially when you point out to all the things you saw. Bravo!!
