"Quickies" 24 - The Avon Dam

Given the vast quantities of rain received in the UK in 2026 so far I thought it would be a good point to do a compare and contrast post about the Avon Dam. I have already completed a saga of posts about the river Avon and in the process of making that series I first photographed the dam up on Dartmoor back in September 2022, during a drought. At that time the water did not reach the spillway, which today it does, in spectacular and noisy fashion. Here is a series of photos alternately showing the dam now, in February 2026 and back then.
